Rohail Alikhan is a Business Consultant with AYA Financial as well as the Managing Partner of Solidarity Financial Services. Rohail’s senior management experience spans over 25 years in diverse service industries and his career has taken him from Canada to the UK, and from the Gulf and Middle East to South Asia. He has held leadership positions with prominent Islamic general insurance (Takaful) companies where he served in various top-tier Underwriting, Finance, and Marketing roles. A graduate of University of Toronto, Canada, Rohail has completed his post graduate work in Islamic Banking and Finance, and Islamic Insurance. Rohail is a board level senior executive who possesses vast leadership experience in the areas of Islamic insurance and reinsurance, credit and bank assurance, and expertise in company reengineering and turnaround management, and management of company ratings. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Takaful in Pakistan having played a pivotal role in the success of all three Takaful companies there, and having contributed to the framing of “Takaful Rules”, the regulatory framework for Takaful governed by Pakistan’s Security & Exchange Commission and Ministry of Commerce. In his more current roles whilst working for the Governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, he has successfully identified and analyzed key contentious and emerging issues within the Public Sector and provided strategic advice and recommendations on how to appropriately integrate operational and financial strategies into broader municipal, provisional and federal government planning.

In addition, Rohail has extensive experience as a Researcher at the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto) and a Lecturer and Trainer in Islamic Finance, Banking and Insurance.
